It was 2019 when the leash I used every day with my dog, Sparky, suddenly broke. I needed a new leash, but I couldn’t find one I really liked. I was looking for something different from the usual, something beautiful with its own identity, but also useful and versatile.

When we were in the city or in tight spaces, I needed to keep Sparky close to me with a short leash. But for our trips out of town – especially in the mountains, which we love so much – or for our daily walks in the park, I wanted to give Sparky the freedom to explore, sniff around, and enjoy the moment. So, I often found myself carrying a long leash.

The idea of a versatile leash, suitable for every situation, began to take shape in my mind. I tried the classic training leashes, the ones with iron hooks and double adjustment. They worked, but something was missing: they were too common. I wanted something special for Sparky, something unique, just like him!

So, I decided to create something new, a leash that reflected our habits and passions – like long walks and our love for the mountains. And from there, the idea of the prusik knot was born! I bought five meters of rope and started working on the first prototype. It was yellow with a black knot. I finished it late at night, but I was so excited that I couldn’t resist: I immediately went to the park to try it out, and yes, it worked!

Although it was still a bit “rough” (I used black electrical tape to cover the joints), it was exactly what we were looking for: a versatile, adjustable, and durable leash!
